Navigating Mercury Retrograde: Insights from a Community Session

The past few days have felt like being at sea in a typhoon. Communication breakdowns, heightened emotions, frustration, and even a bit of bad news all seemed to arrive at once. It was the kind of week where every conversation felt slightly off‑frequency, every device acted like it had a personal vendetta, and every interaction carried more emotional weight than it should have.

For anyone unfamiliar with Mercury Retrograde, this is exactly the kind of thing it’s known for. In astrology, Mercury governs communication, technology, travel, and the way information moves between people. When it appears to move backward in the sky, those areas tend to get tangled. Misunderstandings happen more easily. People react from emotion instead of clarity. Plans shift. Messages get lost. Tempers flare. Even those who don’t follow astrology often notice the collective static.

And this week, that static was loud.

But then Monday night arrived, and everything changed. The Alumni session on Deities felt like stepping off the plane in Bali after days of stormy seas. Calm. Warm. Restorative. A complete shift in atmosphere.

What struck me most wasn’t any single deity we discussed, but the way everyone spoke. Each person shared from a place of sovereignty. No one repeated what they had been told to believe. No one deferred to someone else’s authority. Even those who don’t work with deity at all spoke from a grounded, thoughtful place. There was healthy skepticism, personal discernment, and a clear sense of choosing their own path.

I love that. I love seeing witches speak from their own centre, not from obligation or inherited rules. It reminded me why these sessions matter so much. They aren’t about teaching people what to think. They’re about creating space where people can explore, question, and decide for themselves.

The contrast between the retrograde chaos and the calm of that circle was night and day. One moment I was navigating emotional turbulence and frayed interactions. The next, I was surrounded by people who were present, thoughtful, and connected. It was exactly the reset I needed.

It also clarified something important about my own rhythm. Mondays are for community. They’re for teaching, holding space, and letting the work breathe. Tuesdays are for reflection. They’re for taking what happened the night before and shaping it into something that can be shared more widely. So, blog posts will now be published on Tuesdays. It’s a schedule that feels sustainable and aligned with the work itself.

After a week of retrograde storms, the calm of that circle reminded me how grateful I am for this community. For the people who show up with honesty and curiosity. For the conversations that stretch us. For the shared sovereignty that makes the work feel alive.

Gratitude is the word that stays with me today. Gratitude for the magick we make together, and for the way it steadies the world when everything else feels a little off‑course.

Blessed Be!
