Blue Moon Homecoming

There are moments in a witch’s life when the universe speaks so clearly that you cannot pretend you dreamed it. The Blue Moon gathering was one of those moments for me. I began the evening with the expectation of a simple night of ritual and community, but what I found instead was a revelation. Not a loud one. Not a dramatic one. A quiet, steady truth that settled into my bones like moonlight on still water.

For years I dreamed of an open community, a place where witches of all paths and all levels of experience could show up as themselves without fear or judgement. I never had a plan for how to make that happen. I simply followed the whispers the universe placed in my ear and wrote them down the best that I could. I taught what I knew. I held space where I could. I watered the wildflowers that drifted in on the winds of the wyrd. I never planted them. I only tended what arrived.

But on the night of the Blue Moon, I realized something had shifted. I stood in the store and watched former students helping new participants with a confidence and kindness that made my heart ache in the best way. I saw people bringing friends and family to share a piece of themselves with the people they love. I saw laughter, ease, and a sense of belonging that no single person could have orchestrated. It was a garden in full bloom, and each person a flower, unique and vibrant, swaying together in the breeze. Not bending under the breeze, but moving with it in a rhythm older than any of us.

More than once this week, long experienced witches have told me how happy they are to see how open the practice has become. They said it without prompting, without ceremony, as if the universe had nudged them to speak the truth aloud. And when they did, I felt something inside me loosen. It was as if the universe itself leaned in and whispered, we have arrived. Look around. Witchcraft is all around you and it is beautiful.

In that moment, I felt the Death card rise in my awareness. Not as an ending, but as that sacred hinge between completion and beginning. A gentle release. The struggle of this chapter is over. A new one will come, of course, because that is the nature of the path, but this arc has reached its natural close. And it closed not with a grand ritual or a dramatic revelation, but with pizza shared among witches and a simple crystal rite under the Blue Moon. It closed with laughter, with ease, with the kind of Magick that lives in ordinary moments.

As I sat watching the wildflowers sway in the rhythm of the wyrd, I felt a peace I had not expected. The kind of peace that comes when you realise you were never steering the river. You were part of the river. The rain filled the river. The river is filling the ocean. Every drop is returning to every other drop. We are all coming together again.

In retrospect, the Blue Moon was not just a gathering. It was a homecoming. A family reunion written in moonlight and movement, in shared stories and shared breath, in the simple truth that we belong to each other. The universe had a plan all along. I was part of it, even when I didn’t know it. And so were all the beautiful wildflowers who found their way into the garden.

For now, I am content to sit in that garden with the book of life on my lap, open on the last page of this chapter, feeling unhurried to turn the page. The moonlight is enough. The breeze is enough. The beauty is enough. The next chapter will come when it is ready. Until then, I will sit with my kin and let the wyrd move through us like wind through wildflowers.
