Blaise is my Magical name. Before I was born, my father dreamed of naming me Merlin. Even though, in the end, a more conventional name was chosen, the magic lingered. Later in life, when I wanted to choose a magickal name for myself, I found Blaise— Merlin’s chronicler, keeper of wisdom, recorder of spells.
The name Blaise is legacy, a bridge between my father’s dream and my own. However, Blaise is more, it also conjures a vision of fire, a blaze of fire that sparked fear in witches for centuries. In this blog we, reclaim that truth and show that we tremble no more. We know that our terrible legacy is also our strength. We are the ones who rise from ashes, who blaze our own trail.
Blaise the Witch! is intended to be a lantern in the dark—a place where witches, new and experienced, can find knowledge, companionship, and the courage to blaze their own trail. I believe witchcraft is not about perfection—it’s about intention. It’s about lighting a candle with presence, honouring your chosen family, and crafting in a way that carries meaning.
Whether you’re casting your first spell or rekindling your practice, you belong here.
Let’s blaze together.
